I’ve worked in the IT industry for over 25 years in large and small companies in South-East England. My first role was writing SQL statements to update Oracle database tables and have loved working with data and databases ever since and covering most things: creating databases, updating databases, migrating data, data cleansing, database optimisation, and of course, interrogating the data and data analysis – discovering insights whether as data journalism, data science or for everyday business.
Database technologies I’ve used include Oracle, MS SQL Server, MS Access, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQLite. And, of course I’ve worked with MS Excel and VBA.
